Problem with Windows installation

  • I can install wordpress on linux and all functions OK.but during instalattion on Windows XP with xampp I can’t .Why ?

    I review this but installation script after adjust base parameters close and don’t create tables and installation.Windows shows Apache error .

    What WP version you want to install?
    I have the same problem, but its only happen for WP 2.5.xx above,
    my solution is, installing WP 2.5 ( its work fine) and then upgrading it with current version…(no apache error occured)

    I just did a local install of 2.6.3 while answering questions here following Podz’ guide on Windows XP SP3 in less than 10 minutes. No issues. I’m on a Compaq laptop (Evo N610c).
    I wonder what the difference is?
