    Hi there,

I’m attempting to create a product feed in order to setup a Facebook catalog.

I go through the steps of setting up the feed, but when I attempt to add the feed to Facebook Catalog Manager, there are a number of errors prompted. These errors only seem to occur when I have “variable products” toggled. When I generate a feed without the variable products, it successfully adds all 31 simple products.

    See the errors here: https://ibb.co/VWsWC9g

Aside from the 31 simple products that load up fine in the feed, I have 8 variable products (clothing items) on my shop that I would like to be also added to the catalog and shown as just one single product. Instead, when I upload the feed, the variable product is uploaded for each of the size variations – with the title of the repeated product listing something like “Charcoal fleece jacket – medium”. Instead, I would like to have just one of these products uploaded, and titled “Charcoal Fleece Jacket”. Any ideas what is causing this?

Also, another thing I noticed after adding the feed is that the prices listed for each of the products include taxes. Instead, I would like to have it setup so it lists the price before taxes. Which price id should I have setup in order to achieve this?

If it helps, you can also find my current product feed here: https://voltfuse.com/wp-content/uploads/woo-product-feed-pro/xml/CkuqpG7dYTG61dKCqyO9btTuric2LVv7.xml

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

Let me try answering your questions:

    Hope this helps?

    Hi Eva,

Is it possible to have it so instead of a certain variation being pre-selected, it is set for the “Choose an option” field? In my case, we are not doing color variations — we are showing size variations. As certain sizes are sold out, Facebook will begin showing “sold out” for the entire product — despite there still being availability of other products.

I’d like to keep “Choose an option” as the default size when people visit the page. Is it possible to add one variation of my variable products, but keep “Choose an option” as the default option?

Also, another thing I noticed after adding the feed is that the prices listed for each of the products include taxes. Instead, I would like to have it setup so it lists the price before taxes. Which price id should I have setup in order to achieve this?

    Hi Alex,

Unfortunately it is not possible to keep the “Choose an option” (thus set no default variation) as the default option and let the plugin only select one variation. It is either all variations or the default one.

For adding the prices excluding VAT to your feed you need to create this field mapping: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jrgt6ygdls3rxmp/price-ex-vat.png?dl=0

Ah, that’s too bad. That would be a good feature for in the future.

Also, I am still having trouble adding the feed to Facebook Catalog Manager.

    See here: https://i.ibb.co/yfc9dvm/Whats-App-Image-2019-10-29-at-4-31-21-PM.jpg

    Code: https://voltfuse.com/wp-content/uploads/woo-product-feed-pro/xml/ZmUNLTI3RPcfWNxqIdHMWp2zZOVKdUMD.xml

My website has 33 simple products, but it is only adding 31. 2 of the 33 appear to be glitched, but I am unable to see which two they are. I checked all of the products on my site, and each definitely has a product id, description and image added.

Also, it is not detecting the 8 variable products that we have setup now and adding those. Not sure what’s complicating this and preventing it from uploading properly.

    Hi Alex,

I had a look at your feed. The two products Facebook is complaining about are pretty much empty in your feed (miss a lot of data), see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r18z0p08k7ai27j/both-empty.png?dl=0

You probably made some configuration mistakes in your feed. Could you reach out to [email protected]? Make sure to reference this topic in your email. We will take it from there.

    All the best,
    Eva

    Hi Eva,

I reached out over e-mail, I hope to hear soon.

As an update, I went ahead and set the default variable product, and now the feed is showing 41 products instead of 33.

However, it is still not uploading the 8 variable products and is still showing the two nonexistent glitched products.

    Very strange.
