    Hi there,

    I am designing a new blog and I’m using your template blocks for one of the pages I am doing and I have come across a problem I cannot seem to fix. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or that I should have something installed on my blog to make it work. Let me explain further below;

I created a new page and then choose a template block from your list of options, for this specific page I selected the About block. I then started to edit it to get it to look how I wanted using the options that show under the block section. I am having a problem with doing a specific task within this block and this is what I need your help with. What I want to do is change the font for the item title so I do the following steps within the edit page option when I select the block. General>Block Items>Style>Item Title>Typography and this is when I am then displayed with the options to change the font for this section and this is where my problem is.

Under Typography there are several sections, the first one being Font type where you can choose from default, system and google and I selected Google. The next section is Google Fonts and in the drop down menu you have a lot to choose from. I select one suitable for the look I am going for, in this case its a font called Wallpoet and in my post edit section I see to the left hand side I can actually see the font change and it looks great. All sounds good yes? Well as soon as I press preview so I can view the page properly it shows the default text and not the google font I choose even though I check back under the right section for the block and it’s all appropriately selected. I don’t understand as if I select system instead and then choose a font and do the same action of previewing the page it changes the font then no problem. I even tried publishing the page to see if that would make any difference but it doesn’t ?? so the only thing I can think of is it’s related to choosing Google Fonts as it doesn’t matter what font I pick it does not show up when I do the preview page or publish the page, yet it does show up at the part on the left hand side where you see an instant preview of your content if you know what I mean?

Do I need to install anything specific to make google fonts work or is this an issue with your plugin? I’d appreciate any help you can give me as I don’t know what to do next as I haven’t noticed any other problems using your blocks and the sections to edit them, it just seems related to the font part.

Just to let you know I haven’t included a link to the page I need help with as my blog isn’t live yet so I have an under construction page so that’s all you’d see if you visited the site. If you need access to my blog please let me know and I can create a user login for you so you can bypass the under construction section that any normal visitor will see.

Let me know if you need any other information to be able to help me. I will just add this is a completely new blog install and the software is completely up to date.

    Kind Regards

    Rosie

    Hello Rosie,

You are doing absolutely fine, all process are correct. There is a small bug in the plugin itself. We will fix it in the next version as soon as possible.

You can follow this process for a quick fix:

    • Select Yrsa Google Fonts from options and From Weight select regular
    • After that select Wallpoet Google Fonts

It will work on the preview and publish page too.

We found a bug for Google Fonts, which has a single Font Weight regular. We will fix it as soon as possible.

    Best Regards!

Thank you for your quick response, I tried what you told me as a quick fix and it worked :-).

Quick question whilst I’m here and this is for a new page, is there a way to have a block displayed within a block at all? The reason I ask is I was hoping there might be a way to add the blog block within a featured block so I can keep the background image behind it that is part of the featured block ? I am choosing the blog block so that I can show the 3 latest posts so it’s a small section. If this was something I could have displayed on top of my featured block background that would be ideal for what I am after. I couldn’t find an option to do this so for now I have had to scrap this idea as if I had it separately it would’t look right for what I am going for.

    Thank you for your time
    Rosie ??

EDITED: I included another issue I had but when I submitted this and went back to the page it had suddenly corrected itself, so I came back here to remove that part of my reply.

    Hello Rosie,

You can only add other blocks or itself inside Advanced Columns.

For our understanding, here are solutions for your query.

    • Add Advanced Columns block and Select One Column
    • Add Feature Block and Blog Block inside Advanced Columns
    • For common background you can use Advanced Columns options

You can use Advanced Columns in many ways. We hope this will help.

    Best Regards!
