Problem with url encoding

  • Hello,
    I need to exchange an embedded pdf file using WordPress 5.1.1, but whatever I try ends up with an error. I’m not a coder, but my impression currently is that it is a problem with url encoding of the slash (/) character (%2F) in the file path. Any idea how to solve it is welcome. I did change to the old classic editor, but that didn’t solve it.

    Below is the result from my local test site. The same happens on the life website.

    WordPress page:
    Unexpected server response.
    PDF.js v2.0.493 (build: c5c06bf5)
    Message: Unexpected server response (403) while retrieving PDF “https://127.0.0.1/lsg-wp51/wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads/2019/03/LSG-ADM-OR-008-03-Gebuehrenordnung-Gaeste.pdf”.

    Solved it myself meanwhile.
    1. The above happens when you try to embed a pdf file uploaded with the “Download Monitor” plugin.
    2. In addition to that there seem to be problems with url paths WordPress 5.1.1 comes up with when selecting the file. However, at present I don’t have the time to investigate that in detail.
