• Until recently I never had a problem upgrading plugins. When logged into my dashboard I’d see updates, check the upgrade and the plugin would install with no problem.

Now what happens is the install fails and it says the plugin has been deactivated but it’s not appearing in my list of plugins. What I then have to do is delete the folder via ftp and reinstall from scratch. Frequently I can’t delete the folder either then several hours later it deletes fine.

Anyone know what might be going on here? Is it a hosting/permissions issue? Thanks!

  • This sounds like a hosting issue, I’d drop a note to your hosting company outlining the problem that you’re having. If they can’t resolve it, I’d start looking for another host as it sounds like they’re not properly setup for WordPress.

I’ve tried that and had no success. Never used to have a problem until recently and I know they’re using Windows servers, can’t help wonder if sites were migrated.
