• Everything is translated correctly in the email designer, but when I actually send an email, some words are in English. The words are Product, Quantity, Price, Billing Address and Shipping address. Everything else is fine.

I tried translating these words/phrases using Loco translate, but it did not affect anything.

Everything was translated correctly again after uninstalling this plugin. I really like this plugin though, so I would like to know how to fix this issue.

  • Hmm interesting. If it’s showing correctly in the admin those are the templates used in the email…

Is this for a specific email?

Is it possible your theme is overriding any email templates?

I tried translating these words/phrases using Loco translate, but it did not affect anything.

Just to be clear you translated these things for this plugin correct and not woocommerce?

I did a test purchase, and everything is in order in the first order confirmation email. But after that, every email has these translation errors (order complete, manually sent invoice). This is weird.

I’m using Genesis with a child theme. The child theme doesn’t modify Woocommerce except for some css, and afaik the Genesis theme or “Genesis connect for Woocommerce” plugin doesn’t touch the emails in any way either.

Yes, I translated these for the plugin. Woocommerce already has a translation in my language and I did not touch it.

And just to be clear you see the correct translation in the admin while editing the emails?

Yes, everything is correctly translated in the editor preview, including completed order and invoice.

I concluded this error doesn’t occur on the emails that are sent automatically, only those that are sent manually or those that are sent after changing the order status from the Woocommerce admin.

Thanks for the follow up. I’m running some tests to see if I can recreate and figure this out

So when you are in the editor and you click “Send Preview Email” are you seeing it not working there as well?

Yes, the preview email sent from the plugin has incorrect translations as well.

Hmm that is odd. I can’t seem to recreate when I use loco translate. Can you tell me which plugins you have enabled?

I am targeting “product” as the string to test with.

Fancy product designer, Genesis connect, Genesis layout extras, Jetpack, Loco translate, Woocommerce PPOM, WB Checkout payment methods, Woocommerce, WP fastest cache and Yoast SEO.

I have tried disabling PPOM which adds fields to the emails but it did not help.

I’m doing my best to try and recreate this but I thus far have not been able to. I’ll keep you updated.

    Ben

I have gone so far as to install a Genesis theme and child theme with connect. I still can not create an issue with translations. I’ve run test orders and used the send preview email option. I’m not sure what else I can try to recreate what you are seeing.

I’ll see if any good ideas hit me.

    Ben

Can you tell me which settings you are using in loco translate for where the po file is stored?

    (@hawttu)

I understand, thank you for trying. I’m using the custom setting with Loco.

Could it be possible that there are 2 translation files in separate folders, as in an Author version and a System version? I’m just speculating since I am experiencing the same problem but haven’t been able to check my own suggestion yet.

Did you manage to solve the issue already @hawttu ?

    -Anwar

@anwarm You are having the same issue? Can you tell me what language and what tests you’ve down so I can try and recreate? If I can just recreate then I can troubleshoot the cause.
