problem with the thumbnail

Hi all,
WP-UTF8-Excerpt works great except that it has a problem with the thumbnail. Normally, when we use excerpt in our posts, we have a small thumbnail goes with it. However, after I activated WP-UTF8-Excerpt, the excerpt shows not only the thumbnail, but also the original image if the latter happens to be at the beginning of the post.

I need to get rid of this original image in my excert. Any thought to solve this problem.
