• I am using the Abstractia theme on a blog (not live yet), and I really like it, except that I am having a terrible time formatting my text entries, especially when I have them indented; in particular, it is a problem to put in stable line breaks or spaces between paragraphs.

Every time I save some entries, it seems to reformat them, and at the very least I have to go back in and re-enter all of the line breaks.

    1. Is this a known issue in WordPress? Do other people have this problem? Or is it unusual and related to someting specific for my blog?

NOTE: I don’t know either CSS or PHP, but enough HTML to make some basic changes, so I have changed the font in the style sheet to Georgia 15 pt; would that make a difference?

    2. Any thoughts on how to stabilize these line breaks?

Thanks so much for the help!

  • Don’t double post because it is annoying!

WP does NOT let you to have more then one br tags in the content area. No need.

If your wysiwyg/visual editor is turned ON, it will always break whatever code you put in. If you know code – no need for wysiwyg, turn it OFF. Not switching in between – turn off for good.

Many themes have something idiotic in their stylesheet that defines paragraphs with 0px margin on top and bottom… resulting in no break in the text. Take the issue to the author, if that’s the case. Or just edit your stylesheet.
