problem with template file

hi,

i’m sure, that its possible to create an own template file like single-event.php, so i can show the entry of some event-fields, like event-date.

i cant find the way for this in the documentation.

i tried it with: <?php echo $EM_Event->output("#_LOCATIONPOSTCODE"); ?> but i got an error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function output() on a non-object in /www/htdocs/w0100982/***/wp-content/themes/***/single-event.php on line 3

has it called within the loop? how can i fix it and where is this point in documentation?
