Problem with submitting form if rest api is deactivated

Hi,
the REST api is disabled on all our sites, but there was an option to make this form still work by deactivating the javascript files, as mentioned here:https://contactform7.com/faq/rest-api-is-deactivated-on-my-site-can-i-use-contact-form-7/
But now I’m getting an error after submitting the form, has anything changed in this code, any way to fix it?
