Problem with sub directories

Hello,
I’m using WPMU and BuddyPress on a site, a “blog farm”, but when any user will register a new blog within the subdirectory, it creates no spaces between words, for example:
https://www.adress.com/nameoftheblog or https://www.adress.com/namewithoutspace
..and my goal was to be like this:
https://www.adress.com/name-of-the-blog or https://www.adress.com/name-with-space
