Problem with snippet preview and greek language(?)

  • Hi there, I have the following problem:
    The website is in greek language but the url slug is written with english characters. For example, the website is called https://www.myweb.gr and the url slug is facebook-greekword-greekword2-3. So it should be myweb.gr/facebook-greekword-greekword2-3 in the snippet preview.

    But is shows this: facebook-%ce%ad%ce%be%ce%b9-%cf%80%cf%81%ce%ac%ce%b3%ce%bc%ce%b1%cf%84%ce%b1-%cf%80%ce%bf%cf%85-%cf%80%cf%81%ce%ad%cf%80%ce%b5%ce%b9-%

    I mean, when there is an english word, it is ok. But in no english words, it shows these strange characters. Can you help me?

  • I have the exact same issue with the Japanese snippet previews on the Japanese version of my site https://e-toko.co.uk/ja

    I think this is how WordPress identifies foreign characters and there’s nothing you can do.

    I stand to be corrected though.
