    Dear,

I need help. The google search console is not finding many pages from my site on the sitemap generated by Yoast. On google, the message “indexed, not sent to the sitemap” appears. I can only think that this could be Yoast’s problem. How can I solve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @lucilafreire,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We understand you have ‘Indexed, not submitted in sitemap’ URLs in the Google Search Console. It’s important to note that this is not an error or a warning. This is just a comment on their end, letting you know they found the URL through other means.

These are URLs that were found by Google through their crawling of the web, without having to find them in the sitemap. It’s possible that Google either indexed the URLs before they were added to the sitemap or that they found the URLs from third-party links, etc.

It’s really not an issue. Thank you.

    Hi Maybellyne,

I believe that the fact that URLs are not found on the sitemap influences their evaluation by google and influences how it appears in search results.
I even want to ask for help with this because many posts are appearing with the same description in the search result. I emphasize that I configured the description of each one in Yoast. Therefore, it could not have the same description. see the link:https://prnt.sc/uia4ia
The main page of the site, for example, appears in the search result totally different from the one I formatted. See the links: https://prnt.sc/uia5pg

one on wordpress and one on the search result.
Can you help me solve this?

    Hello @lucilafreire,

We viewed the source of https://sustentabilidadenoar.com.br/ and the meta description is shown as:

<meta name=”description” content=”Sustentabilidade no Ar é um canal de comunica??o colaborativo que visa difudir notícias positivas sobre sustentabilidade.” />

This matches what you have entered as the meta description in the Yoast SEO plugin; that also means our plugin is working as expected.

While Google typically uses the meta description from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. The meta description you enter in our snippet preview are suggestions for Google. Google’s goal is to best represent and describe each result. They use a number of different sources to get this information. In doing so, they try to make the search results as relevant as possible. Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display your preferred description.

Using the URL Inspection Tool can sometimes force Google to update its index. You can also reach out to Google Search Console in the forums and ask for further assistance. You can also learn more here
