    Hi,

I have created a shipping zone for one region in my country (Netherlands). Our zip code consists of 4 numbers and 2 letters. If I register a wildcard for this region 2900**…2999** everything works except the zip codes in the last numerical range “2999AA – 2999ZZ” how can I fix this?

  • Hi there @jtempelman

Thank you for reaching out about this. From what I gather, it all works as expected, except for the range of zip codes between 2999AA and 2999ZZ. Correct?

I went ahead with checking this zip code with Google Maps, and it appears it does not exist.

Just to clarify, are there any actual zip codes within that range in the Netherlands?

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

    Hello @anastas10s ,

Thanks for looking in to my problem. The ZIP codes I submitted in my initial post was for demonstration. I’ll provide you with the following:

    A) Shipping zone covers 3300**...3769**

    B) Shipping to 3768AA is working, this is a ZIP code in Zeist (town near Utrecht)

    C) Shipping to 3769AA is not working, while this is a perfectly valid ZIP code for Soesterberg (even smaller town near Zeist)

The only thing I can think of causing this is that 3769 it’s at the end of the numeric range, and that the trailing AA is causing it to go outside that range. But I figured that the two wildcards at the end should fix that. Is that not true?

    Hi @jtempelman

Thanks for providing further information about your issue here.

I replicated the scenario on my personal site using the Zone Region: 3300**…3769** and I was able to reproduce the issue here:

I altered the range to 3300**…3770** and this worked on my end:

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @xue28

Thanks for the response! I was under the impression that the 3 dots were an indicator for a range including the very last possibility, but as I understand it now, the value after the 3 dots is the last value included. Is that right?

    Hello @jtempelman,

I didn’t find any documentation to back this up but I believe the first and last values are included.

This can be fixed also by adding a 0 at the end 3300**…37690**.

You can check this guide to learn more about how WooCommerce shipping works.

    Hope this helps!
