is this what is missing ….. keyword focus interface

I gather you are looking for the keywords box, apparently some smart Yoast employee decided to take it out of version 6.3. They wrongly decided that no one uses it. Wrong wrong wrong, Yoast does half a job in SEO, other SEO tools use keywords.

I have uninstalled Yoast and I am looking for a plugin to put back the keywords field and do a page check. Which is all I used Yoast for.

A classic case of how to make something useful, useless.

The SEO keyword analysis can be disabled site wide or per user. So lets confirm its enabled for your site and for your user specifically:

Admin > SEO > Dashboard > Features: Is the keyword analysis feature enabled?
Admin > Users > Your Profile: Is the SEO analysis feature UNchecked?

If both of these are enabled, then something is either conflicting or has manually disabled the feature. The next step would be to disable all plugins and switch to a freshly installed default theme, like Twenty Seventeen. From this default state, enable Yoast SEO and see if the analysis returns.

@xaraskinclinic The focus keyword field is different than the meta keyword feature that was removed in the 6.3 version. Meta keywords are no longer used by major search engines.

The focus keyword, on the other hand, is used in our internal SEO analysis that provides feedback on your content to ensure you’re writing SEO friendly content.

The point is many SEO apps use the meta keywords field such as SEO power suite. Beacause Yoast is lacking in quite a few areas. Now Yoast has removed the meta keywords field, the usefullnes of Yoast for me has gone to close to zerro for me.

I have however found “WP meta SEO” which looks much better than Yoast, so I have replaced Yoast.
Yoast has helped me find a better tool, thank you Yoast.

You have not touched any of the options and when updating to the latest version, the keyword interface has appeared by default……ok, thanks!!!

Yoast have stated they have taken it out because it’s not used anymore, idiots just goes to show how out of touch they are. I have removed Yoast and replaced it with WP Meta SEO, took me a few hours to put back the meta keywords. Won’t be going back to Yoast, I think they will lose quite a few installs.
