Problem with ROLE

Hi,
I wanted to use the plugin with users who have the ROLE Author. But the plugin does not seem to work. When updating a post every<pre lang="php">somecode</pre>will be transformed to<pre>somecode</pre>.
When I give the user the ROLE Editor everything works fine.
