Last night I updated RMWR to 3.0 (I’m running a Twenty-Sixteen child theme in WordPress 4.9.8) and immediately noticed that my RMWR “buttons” were no longer displayed. Rather, the shortcode was displayed. Up until that time RMWR (version 2.3?) had been working fine. Until I can resolve this issue, I went ahead and rem’d out the shortcode so that the code will not display. Any chance I can lay my hands on the most recent “non-3.x” (2.3?) version of the plugin until this thing works itself out?

    Best regards,
    Dick Raymond

    Hi.

I am not able to verify any issues at a clear installation, under the latest version of the plugin and the latest version of WordPress (with Gutenberg editor): https://apps.8web.gr/demos/rmwr-gutenberg.gif

I have not updated to wordpress 5.0 yet. This is why the plugin is not working anymore?
The text is separated but the links Read more and Read less does not show
    Thanks for your help

    And I’m using Elementor.

Have you set the texts in plugin’s settings?

    OK I solved the problem.
I went to the settings changed the colors and saved the changes.
    The links were back
    Thanks

    Glad you sorted it out.
Positive feedback is always welcome, in case this plugin is useful for you.

And changed the text as well. Solved the problem ??

    George,

I’m not sure my issue is resolved, yet. I did upgrade to 3.1.

I, too am experiencing (I think) what ameliehub was describing. In my first post, I said only the short code was being displayed. Soon after my post, I discovered that when my 2.3 was updated to 3.0, it apparently did not remain activated, and I had not noticed that. Once I activated it, my “button” appeared, but none of the “read more/read less” text–the button was very short, most likely reflecting a null text value. Here’s what my shortcode looks like: [read more=”For the geekly-inclined: read more about the new site ?” less=”? Close”]. The “button” appears to be properly exhibiting my custom styling, just no text. The “button” does, however work properly.

As I read ameliehub’s input, I went to the RMWR settings page and changed the Read more text and Read less text values. I changed them to “Read more…” and “Read less…) respectively, and saved the changes. Notably, that text does, in fact show up in the “button”. So, it appears that my custom labels (as reflected in my shortcode, above) are not being processed. It would seem that it’s all or nothing, using the RMWR settings page. Is the custom, localized label functionality no longer supported? If so, that’s unfortunate, because I like to tailor the “Read more/less” labeling to the context.

    Hi Dick.

Moving out text to a dynamic field, will help users to globally change the text.
Old version of shortcode should work aswell, as state above.

The latest updates deactivated the plugin

Activating the plugin still does not make things work

You have to go to the new settings “RMWP Settings” (displayed in left admin menu below “Settings” – but not in “Settings”)

    then click Save Changes

…now how many websites do I have this installed on
