    Hello..

I recently updated to version 2.0.24 of Ultimate Member (after having been a victim of a compromised site when I was running plugin version 1.3.88), however, i’m having some problems.

    1. On one of my pages @ https://purivodialysiscenter.com/recipes even though I have “Restrict Access to this content?” checked and “Who can access this content?” set to Everyone, the page is still restricted to users that are logged out.

This is because in the main Ultimate Member settings, I have the post type “recipe” restricted (Global Site Access is set to “Site Accessible To Everyone”).

I have the post type “recipe” restricted because I wanted it so that accessing individual recipes, would force users to login to view them and after logging in, be redirected to the recipe they initially chose to view from the main recipe page (the main recipe page being the one that I mentioned earlier that I wanted logged out users/everyone to be able to access:
https://purivodialysiscenter.com/recipes). This worked perfectly for me in 1.3.88 so much so that i’m almost willing to risk the fact that there was a whole security issue with that version and downgrade to that version for the sole reason that it “worked”.

    2. On the Login Form, I have the “Redirection After Login” setting, set to “Refresh Active Page”, which in version 1.3.88 would redirect me to the page I chose to view after logging in. However this isn’t the case anymore. Even with this setting chosen, I am no longer redirected to the page I chose to view after logging in.

These are really my only two issues with this version, but believe it or not, those were two of the main features that I liked about this plugin and the fact that it doesn’t work is kinda a problem for me. Please, if you can assist me with this, I would appreciate it.

    David

  • Seems like a related problem to generally having trouble restricting content after the upgrade to ver2:

    Hi @tubescreamer,

Please make sure to update Ultimate member to the latest 2.0.25 version.
I’ve just checked your /recipes page and it’s accessible to logged out users, however, the individual recipe requires login.

The redirection after login you can set in the Ultimate member -> User roles settings e.g. Member user role Login options and “Action to be taken after login” section.

    Regards.

Hello. The reason it worked for you is because I downgraded to 1.3.88. I just re-upgraded to 2.0.25 and as you can see it doesn’t work the way it should..
I also did what you said and went to User Roles > Members and edited the ‘Action To Be Taken After Login’ section to ‘Refresh Active Page’ but it still doesn’t work.
With this version, you can see that the main recipes page is restricted along with the individual recipes, even though I have access set to Everyone on the recipes page itself.

Welp, guess i’m going to take my chances and downgrade to 1.3.88.

Version 2.0+ has too many bugs and it doesn’t work the way it used to. I’ve seen a number of threads of people complaining about the same, so clearly the issue isn’t with me only. Hopefully this can all be sorted out soon with an update…

How to set up access to where everybody has access to excerpt and have content restricted?
