Our church recently (last week) migrated a free wordpress site to a paid host (wphosting.com.au).

The original site runs the Resonar theme without problem and can be found here: https://eastcamberwellbaptistchurch.wordpress.com/

The new site does not show the featured images on the various pages, nor does it correctly display either the google map (on the “home” page) or the contact form (on the “contact” page).

We used the “export” and “import” facility to migrate the site (we tested this by replicating it to another free wordpress page where it worked without problem).

Any suggestions as to what we might do to resolve the issue would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hey there, have you considered installing Jetpack? WordPress.com includes features that aren’t built into WordPress, but you can get many of them through the Jetpack plugin.

That will take care of the contact form. You might still need a Google Maps API key still as outlined here:
    https://jetpack.com/support/extra-sidebar-widgets/contact-info-widget/

That may also take care of the featured image situation, but if not, please update us and we’ll dig into it further.

Thanks very much for the suggestions @supernovia

I had quite a bit of discussion with the new web host yesterday and they managed to resolve the issue with featured images not showing — it was a plug in issue but they didn’t say precisely what. They did suggest that the other problems are likely plug in related too.

I’ll give jetpack a whirl and see if it resolves things for the contact form. The alternative seems to be to install a dedicated plug-in for forms.

    Thanks again!
