• Hi,

I’m new to this, but really need help with this problem.

In woocommerce–>products–>attributes we have a attribute called categories which seems to make the problem. If we change anything on the site and safe, all the categories are lost in the frontview. Just by exident I changed this attributes name and changed it back afterwards and now everything works fine again. I really don’t know on how to fix this?! Any ideas?
If you need more information, please say so, not sure whats important to know here ??

    best regards

  • @silvercell you should not have an attribute (or really anything) named “categories”. If you want to group things into categories, please use the Categories that are available under Products. “Categories” is something used by everything in WordPress.

Part of your problem may also be how old your WordPress version is, you listed 3.9.3 which is a few years old. They may have changed how the “categories” is filtered in more recent versions — but in older versions I definitely see this as an issue.

The Update killed the site completely (good thing i made a backup!)

And changing the Attributes Name and or Permalink made everything except the startpage unavailable :/

any other ideas on what to try?

    best regards
