Problem with Polylang and menu when CSS options are enabled.

    Hello,

    I am having a problem with a combination of Autoptimize and Polylang. In Autoptimize I enabled CSS settings:
    Optimize CSS Code
    Aggregate CSS-files
    Also aggregate inline CSS

    Problem occurs when I refresh my website. For a mere second the menu loads without CSS and looks kinda terrible (blue links, small font, etc.).

    If I disable Polylang OR those settings, everything works fine.

    Any recommendation of what to do if I those settings to be enabled?

    It was on localhost using WAMP.

    ah, harder to troubleshoot.

    generally speaking such “flashes of unstyled text” (FOUT) happen when page rendering is done before the CSS is loaded. in the context of Autoptimize this would happen if “inline & defer CSS” is on without (good) “above the fold CSS” being provided. technically the option changes <link rel="stylesheet" into <link rel="preload" for the autoptimized files.

    if you don’t have said option ticked, you might have something else changing the CSS (although I would be surprised Polylang would do so)?
