    Ok, men.
    Will try FireFox
    ThX for EVERYTHING!!
    You are great!

Wow, it’s confusing when two different Anonymous’s post on the same topic! Who’s who?
Who is on first…what is on second…

I’m the second. Sorry for that. ??
In my online-installation is it ok.
The locale php-session-id’s are empty (w2k).

I have a similar problem with my randomly generated password not being recognized by WP.
To clear the cache, I exited FireFox and restarted. (I’m new to FF, Help Files not working, and I couldn’t find a ‘clear cache’ command in the program itself).
Even though the installation routine would not accept my password, it appears that the WP Blog was installed — but with no active reference to the stylesheet. Any suggestions on how to correct this and install the rest of the program?

Forgot to add: I cannot log-in at all on the stalled blog installation.

    aporia,
It’s looking for the css file here: https://www.been-jammin.com/wordjam/blogthis/wp-layout.css
    and it isn’t there.

Thanks, MDV. I suspect that this is the global problem with the stalled installation itself. How do I fix it??? (Or would it be better to delete and start over?)

If your index file is at the root and the CSS file is in /wordjam/blogthis it looks as if you’re files are scattered. Unless you’ve hacked it, the index.php and wp-layout.css should be in the same place.
Reinstalling might be your best bet here. Wipe out the tables from the database and the files from your server, then install again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have deleted the whole works — WP directories and MySQL DB.
Before going back to the same place of no-return again:
When I’m using the WP installation program, how can I choose the directory name that I want to use for WP rather than the generic “wordpress-1.0.1-miles”?

Either change the name of that folder you are uploading or don’t actually upload the folder, just upload all of the files and the wp-*** folders into a folder that is already created on your site.

OK. That’s helpful and it looks like I’m getting closer to actual WP installation.
After making it through Step 3 of the installation process, I came to a dead-end page with this error (repeated for subsequent lines):
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/webjam/public_html/whirred/wordpress-1.0.1-miles-FIX/wp-config.php:29) in /home/webjam/public_html/whirred/wordpress-1.0.1-miles-FIX/wp-login.php on line 109.
I know this may be just as maddening a process for you as it is for me. Let me know if it gets too annoying. :/

Your links are now pointing to https://www.been-jammin.com/whirred/blogjam/ when it looks as if everything is actually over here: https://www.been-jammin.com/whirred/wordpress-1.0.1-miles-FIX/

Back where I started. I gave the blog a name in one of the installation steps, then got to a corrupted blog page in a different directory with no stylesheet and no log-in access.
It may be time to hang up my spurs on this WP installation and wait until the process becomes less PHP dependent.
Thanks for your help along the way. I just can’t sort out the WP start-up routine right now.
