  • Hi John,

    Please read this: https://docs.elementor.com/article/56-content-area-not-found

    And read this: https://docs.elementor.com/article/38-requirements

It can not be the theme, because I use OceanWP in 50+ sites and no such issues.

First things that come to my mind are the php version on your server.
Make sure it is 7+ and clear all possible cache ( server, your own browser, cache plugin if any )

Hope this helps resolve your issue!

thank you for your time Annie
    Can I ask a question?
where do I place…… Add the_content function into the page template’s code.

This is the line you need to add: <?php the_content(); ?>

    Thanks John

    Hi John,

You do not need to add this to OceanWP’s template, it is already build in this theme.
Have you read the links I gave you?

    I am re reading now
I have cleared the cache on my PC but I don’t think I can clear the server cache.
Do you think I should reinstall WordPress and and upload the site again?
    John

    Hi John,

No, it is probably due on wrong version at your hosting company php version.

You gave us this information about your server right:

    == Server Environment ==
    Operating System: WINNT
    Software: Microsoft-IIS/8.5
    MySQL version: 5.5.5
    PHP Version: 5.6.31

That php version is not compatible with elementor and should be set to version 7.0 at your host settings.

Ask you hosting company about that if you do not now how and where to change that.

OK, Thank you Annie for your help and time. I will contact my hosting company.
Nothing is simple or straightforward is it?
    John

That would be the best thing to do now indeed.
If your host is up to date, Elementor should simply work.

Hope it will be resolved soon!
    Annie

    PHP Max Post Size: 1024M

    Hello Matija
My problem was resolved by changing my hosting sever from Windows to Unix and updating php from ver 5.6 to ver 7.
I hope you find the answer to your problem.
    Best wishes
    John

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I can’t change the hosting server.
