We just finished all the upgrades and think this bug arrived at some point in that process as we haven’t seen it before. We are now on WooCommerce 4.5.1 with Storefront Version: 2.7.0. When a discount is applied to a product in an order created by admin at the dashboard, the order details are presented in a confusing fashion. Example:

Item 1 Qty 6 List price: $16.99 Price: $101.94 (The math here doesn’t appear to make sense. Item total shows discounted amount but undiscounted item price shown. Confusing to customers)

Item 2 Qty 1 List price: $14.99 Price: $14.99 (Example – no discount applied)
    Subtotal $116.93 (Subtotal with discount)
Discount -$54.93 (Discount applied by admin – correct amount but still a bit confusing to the customer)
Tax $3.10 (Tax amount is correct)
Total $65.10 (Order total is correct)

I have a jpeg I can share with you which might be clearer. I believe this was presented properly before and the emails indicated the discounted price not the list price. A quick fix I think.

    Please advise,
    Al

  • Hi there,

I want to make sure I understand you correctly.

Please attach a screenshot of your problem so we know where you’re seeing this problem.

I hope this points you in the right direction.

Here is a link to a jpg of the email. As you can see from the first line item the discounted price is presented but the (extended) price uses the undiscounted price. So the math appears not to work. The final math in the order does however work as the discount is applied in bulk in the line below the subtotal. So the order total is correct – it just looks strange to the customer. Thanks for your help.

    Hi @ahawtin

From the looks of it, the normal price (without discount) for the first product is $16.99 per unit, and since there are 6 units, the total price for that is correct (16.99 x 6 = 101.94).

But just to make sure I understand the issue correctly — for this product, which amount is not correct here exactly? Should it show something different than $16.99/unit?

Sorry – total brain freeze on my part. I market up the pdf invoice and should have marked up the confirmation email. Here is the correct jpeg:

You can readily see the problem here.

    Thanks again,

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the screenshot.

It definitely points to an error in the code that is generating the email.
I highly recommend getting a developer to check the code.
