• I have created a Menu1 and placed it in a widget in the Left Sidebar, along with a search widget, and social media one.

I thought that when a sidebar was populated, it automatically removed the default navigation menu. It seems not. The navigation menu has built itself with a search bar of its own and a link to the only page on the site.

    How do I remove this?

I also notice that in Mobile view, the three bars menu opens with the navigation menu too rather than my custom one. How do I change this?

    Thanks, Graham

    Hi there,

Have you assigned the Menu 1 to the primary navigation as Display location?

You can check it at Appearance > Menus.

    Let me know!

When I do that it displays my “menu 1” at the top of the sidebar with its search icon, and my widget version below it. G

OK. I’ve removed the menu from the widget so I am only using the site default primary menu. That’ll do for now. Thanks, Graham
