  • Yes, I’ve seen a dot in the Skype cause issues before but I did not have the opportunity to test further. Can you share a link?

But first, make sure you have checked the option ‘Privacy’ > ‘Allow my status to be shown on the web’ in your Skype client settings…

OK, I’ve been able to reproduce the issue. I created a new Skype user with a dot + TLD extension (just a dot anywhere is not enough!) in the username and indeed visiting the URL https://mystatus.skype.com/xxx.zz did not return an image that reflected the true online status. Instead it always shows Offline.

I tried URL-encoding the Skype username (even replaced the dot with %2E) but that does not make any difference. The funny thing is that if you put .txt after it, like https://mystatus.skype.com/xxx.zz.txt then the Skype server returns a text value that correctly reflects the online status!

Sadly, this means it’s a bug on the Skype server and I cannot find a way around it. Or I’d have to completely revamp the plugins internal workings. I do not have time for that ??

YES! I found a way around it. Please upgrade ??

Great, thanks! It was very important for me. Greetings.

(Mee to tried resolve this problem, URL-encoding the Skype username – even replaced the dot with %2E and etc. :] )

Mine adds “.png” after the username :S and makes a phone call to learnthaiyourway.png

@baars.jan I don’t see the Skype button on your site. Can you point me to a page where it is actually visible? Thanks ??

@discman3 – the upcoming 2.9.1 bugfix release will address the issue reported above by baars.jan but in your case it will bring back the Offline status problem. To fix that, you’ll need to go to the Settings > Skype Online Status admin page and switch to another button theme, save, and then switch back to the one you had before.

Hi, I am trying to add online now, and call me to my website, https://www.onlinepsychicadvisors.com

Can you please explain how to fix this..keep in mind it is for multiple users and I just dont understand how to get the online going. I am very new at this..thank you!

Hi, The Skype online status button we have been using successfully for over a year now is now taking people to a skype page addconsults-en this is not where we want people to end up. We have updated the plugin and still no success. Our website is https://www.addconsults.com Can you please advise as to what we need to do? Thank you.

@addconsults, please try the new version 2.9.2 and let me know if you still have the issue.

@xsil11 your site seems to need a login so I cannot see the example….
