Problem with multilingual site.
-
I have your sitemap plugin installed on a site using qtranslate-x for multilingual capabilities. I’m encountering two problems that I’m requesting whatever level as assistance you can provide.
1) When I try to go to https://www.vitaforlife.net/sitemap.xml , it is redirecting me to https://www.vitaforlife.net/es/sitemap.xml for reasons unknown. I’m worried that this means that the search engines will only be able to access the Spanish version of the sitemap. Please let me know if that is the case with this happening and if you have a remedy for this. I did briefly have the problem solved when I de-activated your plug-in and re-enabled it. My first visit to https://www.vitaforlife.net/sitemap.xml after that did not redirect. But after I went to the Spanish version, it now redirects every time. I can’t figure out this behavior.
2) In the Spanish version of the XML file for product categories here:
https://www.vitaforlife.net/es/sitemap-tax-product_cat.xml
The URLs are showing as follows (an example)
https://www.vitaforlife.net/es/producto-categoria/allergy-immune/
But the actual URL for the category page for this example is:
https://www.vitaforlife.net/es/product-category/allergy-immune/
We do not have the product category pages set up to use “producto-categoria” in the URL to my knowledge. The links shown in the XML file lead to “Oops! That page can’t be found.” pages. Do you have any idea why the sitemap plug-in (or the qtranlate-x plug-in working with your plug-in) would provide these incorrect URLs for the product category pages? I’ve contacted the qtranslate-x support team about this as well and am awaiting their response.
Any assistance you can provide on these matters would be highly appreciated.
