Problem with menu

    Hello, since a few days I’ve found some missing menu and sub-benu voices. I tried disabling all the categories and themes and reverting back to the original brand new installation and the plug in causing problem is the qtranslator-X.

    Basically it removes some category voices from the menu and it won’t let me add new elements to the menu from the appearance admin panel. I’ve been working on a fix all day but nothing worked so far.
    I had to change all the categories from the menu into custom links and now some of them are working and some are not.
    I tried changing the plugin files to the older version when the problem wasn’t there but it still doesn’t work so I updated it to the latest version.

    This is what I saw after reinstalling the theme and switching off the plugins

    After changing deactivating all the plug ins and the theme, I’ve changed all the voices of the menu from category to custom links and then reactivate the theme and the plug ins again. Then I tried to leave some of the voices into categories and this is what I see now.

    I really need the navigation to work fully or the site won’t be surfable by my viewers so it’s kind of urgent.

    you have already read it in the other topic.

    There is no other solution:

    Contact your hosting provider to find out how to increase max_input_vars. The value you need is roughly 100 + [number of enabled languages] times [number of menu items] times 11.

    At what number you come out after this calculation?

    I did that, I modified the .htaccess file adding php_value max_input_vars 4800. The menu from the admin panel works but nothing shows up on the online side

    I tried adding the voices as categories again but they still don’t show up completely. Here are the screens

    The calculation was:

    100 + 2 (english and Italian) x 70 (menuitems) x 11 = 1640

    My provider told me to put php_value max_input_vars 4800 but it still isn’t working

    delete entry that is missing on front-end and make it new and then save your menu again. See if this helps.

    Just tried, it didn’t work ??

    I tried first from Appearance menu and it actually made all the category disappear.
    Then I tried from the theme customization side and it appeared again but still with the missing voices

    do you use a cache plugin?

    Yes W3 Total cache

    deactivate it to see if that makes a difference

    EDIT and clear cache

    all fields Navigation Label are filled in the menus?

    Menu Settings – Theme locations
    is this a Primary Navigation Menu ?

    If so deactive the Primary Navigation Menu – save menu and after that check Primary Navigation Menu and save again menu

    All Navigation Label are filled and yes it’s the primary menu. I tried to do as suggested, removed it, saved it again and then check the primary menu again and save it again. Nothing changed

    what if you temporarily use a efault WP theme?
