• I have searched all over and can’t find a discussion of this particular problem.

I have installed WordPress on a few different operating systems (WindowsXP, FC5, Open Suse 10.2) and I always have the same problem. I can change the text color in the Kubrick header, but I can never change the background colors. The numbers in the dialog change, but the actual background colors do not change.

Does anyone know what the issue is or where I can find a discussion of it?

  • All of the background color in Kubrich is based on images, even where it’s plain white. You’ll need to change the header image itself not the code. Look in the ‘images’ folder inside the theme folder for the header image.

    Hello,
I am having some technical diffuclties changing my header imaga also.
    1. The WordPress was installed by the company that is hosting my website (it’s a package) so I don’t have FTP access to the files.
    2. I put the header image on another server (ex.imageshack or whatever).
Can I copy the link so that it loads the image from another file on another server?
    If so where?

    Thanks for all your help.

Actually guys, I don’t think you understand my problem. I’m just wanting to use the javascript color picker to change the color of the big blue header. I don’t actually want to change images. I know how to do that.

I just want the color picker to work, and I can’t seem to make it work, and I can’t understand why.

The color picker works fine for changing the text color. It doesn’t work at all for changing the top and bottom image colors. It changes the code, but the image color does not change.

How do I change the background in the Kubrick header to a pic? Where exactly to I insert the link to the pic?

    I got it.
Here’s where you want to save it in your WordPress directory:

    /wp-content/themes/Default/images/kubrickheader.jpg
You should overwrite the existing file (it’s the blue blob!), or rename the existing file first.

    Did you reset your browser?

Ok, i managed to change the image header, but why is there a white square hiding it? How do i remove it?

Can anyone tell me why on my Mac the Kubrick header text is perfect with about an inch on either side but on PCs it spills over? How to fix this? They tell me they are already at the highest resolution…

    This is driving me crazy..

It is always considered improper for some reason to criticise Kubrick, but it was introduced in a clandestine manner in the face of TRENCHANT opposition from many folk who know what they are talking about. The real issue is that it is badly coded junk. It should never have gotten in the first place. Attempting to do anything with it is a waste of time, and any one who knows how can’t be bothered because it will still be a mess. Either use it as is, or switch themes.
