problem with jquery

I am a total wordpress newb, but i am having a really hard time with some of the jquery objects I am trying to install. It seems like everything is going okay, get the plugin in and either install the widget or the shortcode but then when i view the page it looks like the js files are broken.

I have had this problem on my static pages before and I learned to always ftp through binary instead of ahci, but I have tried that here, and still no luck.

The plugin I am having the most trouble with is the wowslider https://wowslider.com/ but I have had it with other contact forms so far as well. I have a support ticket started with wowslider, but I figured I would check here first and just kind of get an idea of what people thought.

I am open to any suggestions, and as I said I am a total neophyte with WP so any advice at all is appreciated.
