Problem with import user in group – buddyboss

    Hello,

    I used your plugin to export buddypress user to my new buddyboss website.
    Import/export works perfectly but I found a problem with user imported :
    If i want add user imported in Buddyboss group i have a “error message” user can’t be added in group with back office administrator (But if a new user create account in my website I can add this user in specific Buddyboss group..) I think there is a problem with import user. Have you an idea ?

    Hello,

    I found the problem in “import/export”. When your create CSV file, it is possible to create field name “Pseudo” (“user_nicename” and “nickaname”) for users. So “Pseudo” (field “user_nicename” and “nickaname”) can’t have the symbol “-” in the field ! User will be created in you user database with an pseudo “name-surname” example but with this nick the user can’t be added this Buddyboss group !

    OK thanks for the study.

    But the restriction is not for a standard WordPress, isn’t it? This is only for BuddyBoss, isn’t it?

    There are some restrictions on Buddypress/Buddyboss :

    To give your more information, nicknames have some inherent restrictions much like an email address. They are as follows:

    – Must be unique.
    – Cannot be empty.
    – Only “a-z”, “0-9”, “-“, “_”, and “.” are allowed.
    – “-“, “_”, and “.” cannot be repeated twice.
    – Must be 3 characters minimum
    – Must be 32 characters maximum`

    @stourbier, what about languages that do not use this kind of alphabet.

    We could do some restrictions but this plugin is used globally so I expect BP manage this kind of charsets also.
