When using the import button to import from Q and A for WordPress it appears some of the FAQs are deleted entirely. They are also deleted form the Q and A for WordPress plugin so there appears to be no way to recover these. Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround for recovery other than rolling back my database?

    Thanks

  • Hi Kate,

Is the other plugin you’re using called “Q and A FAQ and Knowledge Base for WordPress”? I ask because that is the only plugin for which we currently have a direct import feature.

If that’s it, then it’s normal that they are removed from the other plugin on import (because the post_type attribute is changed to our post type name).

That doesn’t explain why some wouldn’t make it over to our plugin, though. That would likely be caused by an incorrect character or text formatting in one of the FAQs in the other plugin and/or a setting in the other plugin that doesn’t match ours.

If still possible, we always recommend to take a backup of your site and database before doing anything like importing or exporting.

Yes it was that plugin. I found a couple were imported with a different variation than what was displayed on the page – so perhaps they were created and modified later and your plugin didn’t reconcile the title change? Not sure. Thanks!

Actually it appears to be FAQs from that plugin that go to another page link rather than the FAQ detail page. Not sure if that was built-in on the plugin or manually manufactured. It was not my site I was working on.
