problem with image in header and with the menu

  • Hello everyone,
    I’m trying to do my first website with wordpress

    and I’m trying to make some changes to an existing theme.
    But I can not do two things, could you help me?

    1) in the header, instead of text with the title of the site, I would like to put an image with a link to the homepage. I can not do this: could you help me?

    2) I would like to manage the left menu, che colored ones, with the “menu” function of wordpress. now there is a message in the wp-admin that tells me the theme does not have native support… it is possible activate it for my menu?
