• Hi,

I thought this problem was with a genesis child theme before but I am starting with a blank sample child theme and trying to upload a header image and still have the same issue.

What happens is I upload an image that’s only a few pixels over (95px) and it takes me to the cropping tool where I should be able to choose the part of the file I want to crop. The problem is, the cropping area is collapsed or only a couple of pixels high and it won’t let me drag it out bigger.

When I had the problem before I uploaded it via ftp and then edited the css to put the image in the header but I’d like to know how to fix the cropping issue or if there is a fix for it.

    Thank you

  • Have a Google for TimThumb – very useful piece of PHP that does all the resizing and cropping of images for you.

Thanks for the tip James. I’ll definitely check that out. Since it’s a script and not a wp plugin I can probably put it into a plugin or use it in codeigniter.

I’ve had the past 3 versions of wordpress and in none of them has the cropping worked for header images. I’d like to know if there’s something I’m missing because it seems strange to keep a feature if it’s not going to be fixed.
