The carousel at the foot of my site was working fine until I installed WP 5.4 on this site last night (still works fine on a mobile device). It gets into a pickle as the 4th (of 4) images is displayed. I contacted Elementor support and they logged onto my site and found that disabling the Smush plug-in fixed the problem and to report it to you.

They have advised that if you need their help to please open an issue on their Github account and their developers will be willing to assist.

I will leave your plug-in enabled for the time being so that you can see the problem.

I tried switching off iframes but no luck – however, deactivating Lazy Load completely stopped the issue occurring.

Will have a play and try and work out if its Smush + WP 5.4 or the latest Smush version etc. But for now I will leave lazy loading off until support is available o have a look.

Could you please confirm if this will be fixed in your next release, due in mid-April. According to your roadmap:

Improvement: Improve Lazy Load compatibility with third-party theme and plugin integrations

As the issue I am experiencing was Lazy Load related, is it safe to assume it is covered? Many thanks

    Hello there @cufcmark59

I’m really sorry for the huge delay here, somehow we missed this topic. ??

Can you please try to install the following custom plugin?
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/j6wp6qv7qkj9wnf/138422.main-js-replace.zip?dl=0

Then re-enable Lazy Load in Smush settings, clear caches and check if you’re having the same issue.

And yes, v.3.6.2. will include some improvements on that module.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

Sorry for the delay. That seems to work fine – do I delete this custom plugin when v3.6.2 is released? Many thanks.

    Helo @cufcmark59

I hope you are doing well!

Please have a backup of the mu-plugin after the next update and see if all is well with Lazy Load. If the issue is resolved, please feel free not to re-add the mu-plugin.

    Have a good day!

    Cheers,
    Nastia

    Hi Nastia

Any idea when the next version will be released? Smush is also causing me problems on another site that is using the Maintenance plugin prior to launch. The image I had selected was not showing, but when I deactivated Smush it appeared. Their support team have put similar cases down to lazy loading plug-ins. I have now reactivated Smush but again disabled Lazy Loading and it is working.

I am happy to wait for the release, although was expecting it in April.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi @cufcmark59

I’m sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing!

Our developers are working hard to get the release ready as soon as possible. I don’t have an ETA but I believe it’s really “just around the corner”. There’s been some delays but that’s because we need to make sure that everything is fully tested and adjusted/tweaked before release if necessary. That’s also why we don’t have any specific release dates.

But I’m sure if will show up really soon now.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    @cufcmark59,

    An update has been released.

    Hi Anton,

The fix has addressed the first problem with the Image Carousel. I deactivated the fix plug-in you sent and re-activated Lazy Load and it looks good.

However, on another site there is still a problem with the Maintenance plug-in with the image not being displayed. When I deactivate Lazy Load on that site the image is displayed again.
