Problem with IImage not creating thumbs

  • I can add images n/p to the posts and upload to the server also but if I try to create a thumb of the image I get the following error:

    “Filetype not supported. Thumbnail not created.”
    in red on the top of the pop-up window

    its just a standard .jpg and it takes the fullsize image n/p
    any clue?
