I’m trying to create a template for a custom post type. I’m using Blockbase. The title displays correctly, but not the content – I just get a blank screen. I disable the Gutenberg plugin and switch to TwentyTwenty and the post displays.

    Any possible answers?

Unless you’re helping the devs code the latest block editor version, you don’t need the Gutenberg plugin. The plugin gives you the very latest bleeding edge development version which can be buggy at times. The latest stable version is built into WP core. If you still have trouble with the core editor and your theme, I recommend seeking assistance through the theme’s dedicated support forum.

There may be some confusion. Indeed, the Gutenberg Editor is part of core, not needing a plugin. However, I’m referring to Gutenberg’s Full Site Editing feature, not available in the core, needing the Gutenberg plugin. Disabling the Gutenberg plugin also disables FSE and using block-based themes, such as Blockbase.

While I’d hoped FSE would make creating CPT templates easier, until some of the kinks are worked out, it appears I’ll need to stick with the traditional template-making process.
