Apparently Google is not allowing new sites to use OpenID any longer?

This morning, I checked one of my existing sites to verify my settings before installing this plugin on a brand-new site I’m setting up for internal usage. We all have Google accounts, so this login process is extremely helpful for us.

Login via this plugin works fine on an existing site.

However, on the new site, I received this error from Google when attempting to login for the first time:

OpenID auth request contains an unregistered domain

From my preliminary research, it looks like this behavior is consistent with a Google policy they announced several months ago.

Will this plugin be updated to support the new authentication method?

Any ideas about a workaround in the meantime?

  • We keep supporting the old authentication method because it still works for older sites.

To use the new Google authentication method you only need to setup Google in your OneAll account.
