• Hello
After a migration of my website characters with accents are not correctly encoded.
I have this issue with Elementor pages, Woocommerce articles and some plugins.

    For exemple I have
    Ci-apr?¨s le ?? Vendeur ?? ou la ?? Soci??t?? ??.

    Hello @creatoo

Thanks for reaching out to us.

This can be a database service problem. Please go to WPvivid settings > Advanced settings > Choose PDO as the Database Access Method > Save Changes, then try to perform the migration again.

Also, Elementor has it’s own migration method, once the migration is complete, their data need to be regenerated. So, after migration, you will need to go to target site > WordPress admin dashboard > Elementor > Tools > General > Regenerate CSS and click on Regenerate Files button and save changes.

    Thanks for the update.

Are you able to let us know the location where the encoding part is stored, for example, in which file or database table please? It will be very helpful for us to locate the problem.

The problem is from the database. In the table “wp_posts”
Probably because the encoding is on “latin1_swedish_ci” ? I can’t verify on my origin website because it’s hosted by wordpress.com and I can’t vew it.

    Thanks

    Hi @creatoo

    Thank you for the information.

That can be because our plugin currently does not support latin1_swedish_ci(mostly it’s utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci), but we are going to consider adding the support in the future.

    All the best,
