I’ve log in freehostia.com with a free account.

I created my database (mysql) and when I’ve changed my wp-conf.php file, I tried to install… but:

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql4.freehostia.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

I’m sure that my database name, user name and password are the same. But I don’t know where is something wrong…

    Please, help me:)

After you create the database you have to create the user, and with freehostia, assign that user dba rights.

They mailed me, telling that I’ve a database user created.

Maybe I’ve to assign database rights.I’ll check.

    Thanks for answer

I am wrong about this host.

When you create the database, both the database name and the database user will be the same. The database user is automatically assigned dba rights–you don’t have to do that.

So if your freehostia account (login) is novito and if you put wordpress in the database name field, then novito_wordpress will be the value for DB_NAME and DB_USER. Of course you specify the password (DB_PASSWORD).

The host (DB_HOST) will be like mysql2.freehostia.com or mysql4.freehostia.com

I’m looking for this as well. When I already have the database name but it still ask me to create a database under the database name. It ask to defind column name for a data table. Who can help how to set up WP SQL data table? And this is my blog it show different erer between IE7 and Firefox. https://topsale.freehostia.com
