Problem with Former index.html file

I’ve installed WordPress into the main directory (my website https://www.senseimichael.com), which already has an existing index.html file. Does it mean I should delete the index.html file so that anyone entering my site would seee the index.php file instead? Thanks for the advice – I’m a complete newbie to anything out of html!
