Problem with Emojis in Beaver Builder

    I am currently facing an issue that I cannot solve on my own, and I am hoping for your competent assistance. In Beaver Builder, I can insert emojis in the text editor without any problem. However, as soon as I publish the post, the entire content disappears and is no longer accessible. Everything works fine when using only text without emojis.

    I have tried inserting emojis both through copy-paste from getemoji.com and using the standard emoji selection from the keyboard. After publishing the post, I end up with an empty post.

    I have updated my WordPress version, theme, and all plugins to the latest versions to eliminate any possible conflicts. Additionally, I have deactivated all plugins, and the problem still persists.

    I am not sure if this is an isolated issue or if other users might be experiencing the same challenge. Please let me know how I can successfully insert emojis in Beaver Builder without the text being deleted? Any idea?Thank you in advance for your help and time. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Hannah,

    The only thing we know of to cause this is old database structure/collation.

    Can you go into Tools > Site Health in the WP Admin and then click on Site Info.

    There will then be a button that says “Copy site info to clipboard” and then paste that in your reply here, that would be helpful.

    The charset is correct.. now. However, if say your database was using something that was not the correct charset and then upgraded without fixing the data, we’ve seen that still cause problems.

    And individual tables have a collation and that collation might not have been upgraded/modified when the database charset updated.

    We could actually confirm if the database setup might be contributing if you could take some screenshots of your tables in phpMyAdmin. I wouldn’t recommend providing those in public though.

    The good news is, if we do confirm the issue, then we have a tool that we developed that may help in this situation that we can provide ( a WP Plugin ).

    For anyone else, the postmeta table and others had the wrong collation (latin instead of utf8). The host was able to fix the collation and now things are working!
