    Hello @petersonsilva,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Can you please let us know what settings you have in your dashboard > Downloads > Settings > Advanced > Download Endpoint?

Also, please go to your dashboard > Settings > Permalinks > Save without changing anything.

    Warmly,
    Beatrice.

Hi @beatrice12 , thanks for addressing the issue!

In the Advanced / Download Endpoint I have “download”

Permalink structure was updated (I didn’t change anything, per requested)

I attempted the download once again, it is still not working.

    Hello @petersonsilva ,

Just followed your discussion with the support team from Email Before Download plugin and tested the pages you gave them and us as not working, but they seem to work.

Tried the form also but did not receive any email ( so can’t test the link given in the email ), but the other page with the download, the one you said was not working, is working, it just doesn’t download directly because it says the file comes from an insecure connection, most probably because you are using SSL but the link to the file set in the Download is with simple http protocol.

Could you please check to see how is the link to the file set when you edit the Download with ID 1301? And if it is with simple http please change to https and try again and let us know if this worked.

    Kind Regards!
    Razvan

    Hi Razvan,

Thank you so much, this seems to be the right thing to do! The current URL for ID 1301 is ” https://petercast.net/agencia/download/1301/

However, and I’m sorry if this is a dumb question, I don’t know how to change it to https. I cannot edit the “URL” field in the “Download Information” widget within the download page, it’s read-only, and I cannot find a general setting for it in the plugin’s settings page.

    Hey,

You should be able to edit the URL if you go and edit the Download with ID 1301 and in the Downloadable Files/Versions meta box you need to go to the File URL(s) setting and edit it from there ( this should not be read-only ).

Also, could you make sure that the WordPress Address( URL ) and Site Address ( URL ) settings from dashboard > Settings > General are with https and not http ? If they are with http please modify, flush the permalinks ( go to dashboard > Settings > Permalinks > Save without changing anything ) and check again if the problem still occurs?

    Kind Regards!
    Razvan

Aaahh I see! I initially changed the first thing (the download URL) and it still didn’t work. But updating the permalink structure did it!

Thank you so much, Razvan & team!!
