Hello, I followed your recommendation and upgraded to the last github version 2.2.5 (from 2.2.3). But I had the same problem with menus in 2.2.3 too; I believe it’s an issue since WP update to 4.4.

On my site you cannot scroll with the mouse down into dropdown menus anymore. As soon as the mouse pointer is near the first dropdown position the menu collapses.
    Site dare2go.com
Tested with Win7 Pro, Firefox 40, Chrome 45, and Internet Explorer 10 (can’t upgrade my ASUS to 11, it breaks some ASUS specific screen widgets).

This used to work until around October or November 2015 – not that often that I actually check this…

    More questions:
After the upgrade it asked me to install ‘Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin’ (which is on my server, but disabled) and ‘Responsive Lightbox’. This was only an upgrade from 2.2.3!
Has any of the thumbnail sizes been changed or new sizes been added? Otherwise I wouldn’t like to run it, as all my thumbnails for ‘featured images’ are hand-created and uploaded via FTP; these I guess would be all overwritten!

I’m using Jetpack, and to this day everything was working okay without ‘Responsive Lightbox’ – do I really need this? I would think it doubles up on Jetpack’s own lightbox. I would like to keep the number of plugins low as I feel I have already too many…

  • Hi webbeetle. The menu is driven by javascript so the most likely reason for that behavior is a conflict with another part of your site that uses javascript; that’s usually a plugin. You might try disabling your plugins and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, enable the plugins one at a time to find the one that causes the issue.

Regarding the two plugins: they were recommended by the original developer; they are not required to run the theme. The thumbnail sizes have not changed. If you’re satisfied with the image options provided by Jetpack then you probably don’t need the Responsive Lightbox.

Thanks, I found the culprit (but lost my Jetpack statistics in the process when I deactivated it together with others – damned!).
The problem seems to be a social sharing plugin, Easy Social Share Buttons from codecanyon – the only plugin, appart from caching, I paid for – grrr!

Don’t worry. Your stats are still there. All you have to do is to re-link to your wordpress.com same account after re-enabling Jetpack. They will re-appear.

The WordPress stats were a little more complicated to fix; I needed support from Automaticc as between initial install of Jetpack and website going live I changed my directory name of the WP installation. My stats had to be re-linked manually.

    All good now! ??
