Problem with displaying ID on thanks page when inputting multiple participants
-
Hi there!
I’ve just set up a system that uses your wonderful plugin to perform new member intakes at a non-profit mental health drop-in center where I work, and I’ve encountered a bit of a problem. I’ve been attempting to perform multiple front-end new user intakes per login session (i.e. I work with somebody to help them input their information, they finish and submit the form, and I move onto another new intake and complete the process all over again). The first intake goes off without a hitch, but each subsequent intake displays the first name and user ID of the first intake that I performed on the thanks page, and not the correct name. Then if I perform a front-end search for each subsequent new intake (not the first one), only the very last one that I input will appear, and will appear to have been assigned the user ID of the first subsequent new intake. So for example:
-I enter Sam into the database without any problems, and he’s given a user ID of 1 and the proper thank you message displays.
-I subsequently enter Bill into the database and the thank you page says “Thank you, Sam! Your user ID is 1.” Despite this, when I perform a front-end search, Bill’s information appears, and he’s correctly assigned a user ID of 2.
-I subsequently enter Susie into the database and the thank you page says “Thank you, Sam! Your user ID is 1.” When I perform a front-end search for Susie, she appears in the database with the user ID of 2, and Bill’s information no longer appears! It doesn’t appear in the administrative back-end either.
-Now if I log out and log back into word press, I can enter in another new user and the thank you page will display correctly and their information will have been correctly entered into the database. The cycle I’ve described above will repeat, and now all of the information entered in the previous cycle will appear correctly in the database (e.g. if I perform a front-end search for Susie, her information will be visible, and her user ID will be listed as 3).Some more information about our setup: I’ve set the thank you page to display the first name and ID number of each new member intake (it’s important that they know their ID numbers so that they can enter them into our separate visitor ID system whenever they enter the building). I’ve also set up a basic front-end portal page of sorts that includes links to the new participant form [pdb_signup], as well as a records search [pdb_list] page, and at the bottom of each page page that I use for Participants Database, I include a link back to the basic front-end portal page (I thought that this would make navigation between the pages a little easier). I thought maybe the system was somehow being confused whenever I would click the link to go back to the front-end portal, but it doesn’t matter if I click that link, or manually enter the URL to the intake form in the browser’s address bar – I still have the same problem. I’m very sorry that this message is so long, but I wanted to be as specific as possible. The problem is occurring on a WordPress installation that we’re using as our intranet, and I’m very happy to create log-in credentials for you if it would help to diagnose the problem.
Thank you so much for any help that you might be able to provide – we greatly appreciate it!!!
