    Hello,

I recently updated from a very old (2.3) to the latest WooCommerce plugin. I’m using products with variable options. The problem I’m facing is that even though I disable “Manage stock” under Inventory Settings, the store won’t allow me to add products or their variable products to the cart and it will give me an error “Sorry, this product is not available. Please choose a different combination.”

Why is this happening? I thought that disabling invetory management will disable Woocommerce to be checking for the stock availability for a particular product entirely.

Is this indeed to work like that, and if so – how can I disable inventory / stock management on all products and permanently?

    Thank you

  • Hi crowdapart

If I’ve understood your issue correctly could you confirm the following:-

    1. Login to the dashboard
    2. Select all products
    3. Then select a product as though you are going to edit it
    4. Confirm the Product Data is set to Variable
    5. Directly under the SKU field should say ‘Manage stock?’. Leave this unchecked.
    6. If you wish to manage the stock per Variable product then click ‘Variations’ and then ‘Expand’.
This will display all the Variations for the Product and there will be a ‘Manage Stock?’ checkbox for each Variation.
Leave this unchecked if you want the product to be in stock at all times or check and then you will be given the option to enter the quantity available.

    I hope this helps
    Regards

The default store-wide settings for inventory control can be set under **WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory**. With that said, you’re still able to override that on per-product basis using the method outlined above by @pxwm ??

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

I am having the same problem. When I select a Polo shirt size it immediately comes back with “Sorry, this product is unavailable. Please choose a different combination.”

Inventory/stock control is off and the product is a variable one. (I couldn’t get the sizes to come up with a simple product). I was hoping Simple would work as I would only have to enter one price but customers wouldn’t be able to select their size!

For the variable product there is no option to select or unselect “Manage stock?”.

    Please help

    Thanks.

Never mind. I think I have sorted it out, although I had to grab another site’s Woocommerce install which is at 3.3.x, and I couldn’t update to that version for some reason.

I have similar problem. I disabled some of my color attribute but it’s still shown in the listing and when I select those disabled colors, it says ‘Sorry, no products matched your selection. Please choose a different combination.’

Hello! i Have same problem, I disable the inventory management and it keeps locking and showing “out of stock”, I realized that this occurred after updating to the most recent version.I’ll go back to the older version and see if it solves the problem.

@bahl2 Did the problem solved when used the old woocommerce version ?

    Can I bump this please?

I’ve got the same thing. I set up a simple product with no variations. Add the variations automatically (over a number of runs) but nothing shows up as being available.

I have over 400 variations over two attribut types so I really need this to work!

Update: The issue is that “regular price” hadn’t cascaded it’s way through to all the variations. It would be great if there was an option to inherit the weights and prices of the parent product before creating the variants. But happy to accept that might just suit me!

    Great plugin.
