Problem With Custom Pages

    Custom Pages are not being rendered when I name the page as
    <?php
    /* Template Name: Blog Page */
    ?>

    sorry there was a slight error in my coding.. I accidently added

    <?php
    /* Template Name: Blog Page */
    ?>

    to all apges including index and single.php
