• I have been having trouble lately. I put pages up that I was hoping to allow people to leave comments on. but the comment forms don’t show up. It’s not a theme issue, as I’ve tried numerous themes with the same problem.

I’ve checked and verified that I’m allowing comments on pages. Yet no matter what I do they do not show up.

    Am I missing something?

here’s a page for example: no comment form

It is, in fact, a theme problem. Most themes do not have comments enabled for Pages. This is usually intentional, as most people don’t want comments on their Pages.

You’ll need to edit (or create) the theme’s page.php file to add comments capabilities. Generally this involves adding the comments_template() code. Look at the theme’s single.php for an example of how this works. If there is no page.php file, try copying the single.php to page.php.

damn. It figured the one theme I didn’t try showed this. I tried the default wordpress theme and it did the same thing. After reading this I try wordpress classic and it works. lol sorry.

    Thanks for the fast response.

I think it’s abit strange to not include this info on the template when each page has the option to turn it on or off. What’s the point?
