    Hello,

    unfortunately – as a newbie – I am not sure if i did a mistake or if SendPress has a problem within the current update.

    The double opt in Email looks totally crashed (special Signs in the subject line and in the body weren’t shown) – and if I trie to insert Unicode, SendPress automatically update them to normal Text in the form and send again the crashed version.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thanks a lot!
    Greetings
    PeggyDoo

    It is possible that some characters are not allowed. Could you paste a sample of the opt in message and possibly a screenshot of what it looks like? Or let us know where we could try signing up and we can take a look at the message that way as well.

    Hi PeggyDoo,

    The double opt in title not changing is a bug and i have added it to our list. That should be fixed in the next release.

    What text did you try to insert? we updated some of the encoding with the latest release and that may have fixed your problem. If you can give me some examples of what you added i will test them out.

    Thanks,
    Josh

    I’m not sure if this is related or not, but after upgrading to 0.9.4.4 today, I’m getting weird characters in my email. When I preview everything from within Sendpress (in wordpress) all looks good. For example, in my email I have ” – ” which shows up as “a”. I also have ” [” which shows up as “?”.?? In one case a comma also shows up as “?”.

    HI boybawang,

    Could you send an email to [email protected]. I can take a look at it and see what is going on. Also what sending method are you using? and what email client?

    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi Josh –
    I just sent you the email. I’m not sure I understand what you mean by sending method, but I’m using godaddy to send the emails. As for email client, I tried using hotmail as well as godaddy’s webmail, and both displayed weird characters.

    Hi Pete,

    Everything looked correct for me in gmail but i have a feeling it is the charset the emails are using. I am going to change them to utf-8 that should fix the issue. When do you plan to send out your next newsletter? i can send you a patched version if you would like to test it to make sure it fixes the problem.

    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi Josh –
    I was hoping on sending one out today, but can wait until you fix it and make it available for an upgrade if that would be easier.

    Hi Josh –
    Any idea when this might be fixed? I supposed I could use that patched version if you don’t mind. I’d like to send out an email today to my users.
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi Pete,

    i will be releasing a new version shortly that should fix your issue. I wanted to do a little more testing over the weekend.

    Best,
    Josh

    Sounds good, thanks Josh.

    Can you post a link to downgrade to the previous version?

    Hi AndalusianWorld,

    I would recommend changing the encoding settings. They are under Settings > Sending Account the “Advanced Sending Options”. The old settings where

    Charset = UTF-8
    Encoding = quoted-printable

    This will set the encoding back to what it was before the last few updates and should fix your issue.

    Otherwise you can download old versions here:

    https://github.com/brewlabs/sendpress/releases
    or

    Best,
    Josh

    After the new update, all non english characters become wired and none sense
    ù??-?¨ ?£ù? ù??1ù?ù? ?1ù? ?§ù??aù??§?? ?a?·ù?ù??± ù??a?-?ˉù??? ?§?3 ?§ù… ?§?3 ù??§ùù?ù?
    ?a???±?¨?? ù…?±?? ?a?§ù?ù??? ù??ˉù?
    even if using
    Charset = UTF-8
    Encoding = quoted-printable

    Please help, I can’t send emails this way.

    Thanks in advance.
