• Right now my category url structure is

    domain.com/category/category-name
    domain.com/category/category-name/sub-cat
    domain.com/category/category-name/sub-cat/sub-cat-sub-cat-2

Why is my second sub category slug attached to the first sub category slug? To see what i’m talking about look at the categories on https://reviews.ruddo.com/.

Also is there a way to remove the hierarchy in the category url structure?
I just want the category urls to be

    domain.com/category
    domain.com/sub-category

    instead of

    domain.com/category
    domain.com/category/sub-category

  • In that case, amend Sub-category to be top level instead of a child of Category. If you know what I mean…

But I intend to make a directory like navigation for the categories

I have the same question. There must be a way to link to a category archive without including the category hierarchy. Even something like the default ugly post permalinks would be fine with me.
